Overview
J.P. Morgan is the industry leader in digital treasury, processing over $120+ trillion in transaction volume per year.
The Problem
The current design system was outdated and didn’t serve their clients’ expectations amongst a growing and competitive fintech market.
The Solution
Create a North Star prototype that articulates a persuasive vision to rebrand and invest in a new Payments Design System.
Defining a visual language for payments
When building a vision for the future of payments dashboards, our team explored a variety of UI themes before deciding on the Payments Masterbrand. Along the way, we took the opportunity to explore drop shadows, rounded corners, and a stone background for better contrast.
Building customization
Our team first built a responsive prototype articulating a flexible customizable workspace for dashboard customers. We also leveraged prior north star concepts which we tested with customers.
Modular, simplified, widgets
Building off customer research, we envisioned a radical departure from the old dashboard focusing modular widgets, lower information density, and charting, aiming to provide a modern fintech experience for the firm's clients.
Composed dashboard
This model of dashboard aimed to serve as the homepage for not just treasury customers but for clients across payment, positioning JPMorgan as the trusted operating system for enterprise payments.
Team
Product Designer on a team comprising a Design Manager, Creative Technologist, and Visual Designer.
Impact
The final prototype won Product Executive buy-in, was featured at the 2024 JPM Global Payments Town Hall, and directly influenced the next 3+ years of enterprise treasury product roadmap & strategy.
